When you or a loved one must be hospitalized, Metropolitan Methodist Hospital is here to offer outstanding heart and cancer care, general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, obstetrics and gynecology services, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, sleep disorder evaluation and the largest emergency room in downtown San Antonio.

General Information

Shift Details- Please correct information below if needed:

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks

• Shift/Workdays: (1) 7P-7:30A

• Weekend – Discuss during the interview

• Call Requirements: Discuss during the interview

• Guaranteed Hours: 36

• Special Skills/Experience required: 2 years +, Fetal monitoring, ACLS, BLS, NRP

• Other Helpful or Misc. Information:

***All candidates are required to float, while on the interview please inform traveler of the Methodist candidate Policy***

Unit Specifics – Information below is requested for better sourcing:

• Number of Beds : 16 LDRs, 5 Triage (OBED), 7 Ante

• Patient Ratios : 1:2

• Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : Unit clerk 24/7, ORT 24/7

• Type of equipment : Fetal monitors

• Documentation system: Meditech / CPN mostly

• Scheduling requirements:

• Floating policy: As needed

Hospital Specifics:

• Certifications: Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring, ACLS, BLS, NRP

Hiring profile

Requested Skill Set:

Must have: (candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role)

• Fetal monitoring (above certification listed)

• Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring

• ACLS

• BLS

• NRP

• 2+ Years of Hosp/Speciaty Experience

Preferred Skills/Advanced Skills Needed: (candidates with these skills will be considered first)

• Meditech Preferred

Specialty/Unit Certifications Required: (RN)

• Active TX RN License ONLY- temp License will not be accepted

Procedures performed on unit:

• Vaginal deliveries, Caesarean sections

Dress Code: Include requirements, but most of all not acceptable attire.

• Scrub Color

• RN: Navy-scrub top and pant, Navy or white scrub jacket

• Nail Policy – Clean and Healthy

• Hair – hair should be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors. Beards, mustaches and sideburns should be clean and neatly trimmed

• Tattoos – Body art should be covered whenever possible. Body art that is not feasible to cover on a daily basis will be addressed individually

• Piercings – Visible piercings other than ears, is prohibited
