Job Title – RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location – Louisville, Kentucky

Pay – $2408 – $2516/wk

Schedule Details – Night, 3X12

Job Description –

NO BLOCK SCHEDULING OR TRAVEL PAIRS
Start Date for this position: 11.18.24
Auto-Offer Parameters: (Any requests outside of the below has to be sent to Manager for approval)

• Requested time off – HWS has approval to process up to 5 days in the offer sent to the vendor. Anything more, will have to be reviewed and approved by manager.
o HWS will ask the candidate to make up approved time off at the back of the assignment
o Holidays MUST have manager approval
• Holidays – HWS will advise and require candidates to work 2 out of the 3 holidays
• Duration of assignment – for these positions, HWS will have approval to offer 13-18 week assignments

• Specialty: 4W Pulmonary Intermediate PCU
• Number of Openings: 1
• Shift: 6:45PM – 7:15AM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH & KY License
• Years of Experience: 2+ (No ICU RNS)
• Float Requirements: Yes – Any other PCU or Med Surg

Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 21
• Patient Ratios: 4:1, can go up to 5:1, 3:1 for BiPAP teams
• Equipment: BiPAPS, High flow, and telemetry monitoring, occasional Cardiac Drips
• EMR: Cerner – Preferred

Hiring Profile:

• Must Have Skills/Experience: Proficient in cardiac monitoring, IV therapy (including PICC line management, dressing changes), IV medications (administration of antibiotics, drips including heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, cardizem) & Tracheostomy Management, Intermediate/step down experience
• Preferred Skillset/Experience: Proficient with BiPAPs and high flow and Proficient with chest tubes, Pulmonary disease management
• Type of Patients on Unit: Mix
• Personality Fit: Positive attitude, flexibility with changes on the unit (patient assignments/floated to another unit), and excellent critical thinking in stressful situations. Also, a good sense of humor, it can provide a sense of stress relief amongst your fellow team members and can also remind patients and families that nurses are people too and help to build trust.

• Scrub Color: Galaxy Blue tops, Bottoms – blue or black
