General Information
Unit Specifics:
• Number of Beds : 26
• Patient Ratios : 2:1
• Unit staffing description: RNs and Unit secretary/COVID runner. Total care is provided by RNs.
• Type of equipment: Ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, Balloon pumps, ventriculostomy drains, glucometers. Use of iMobile phones and technology by all staff in the hospital. PPE- includes mask, face shields, goggles, PAPRs and hoods for our COVID-19 patients.
• Documentation system: Meditech using EBCD (Evidence Based Clinical Documentation)
• Scheduling requirements: All nursing shift are twelve hours from 7 to 7; every other weekend. Holiday requirements
• Floating policy: Nursing staff will float to other Medical-Surgical Units in the hospital as needed with priority focus on pulling to Intensive Care Units.
• Patient Experience requirements: Hourly rounding, bedside hand-off reporting, completion of My Care Board during hand-off report; use of AIDET with a focus on compassionate connected care.

Hiring profile
Requested Skill Set:
Must have : Must be willing to care for COVID-19 patients, ICU experience, Positive attitude, flexibility, teamwork, desire for excellence, self-motivated, good communication and people skills, ability to work in a diverse environment.
Advanced skills needed: Ventilator management, critical care drip knowledge, thorough and accurate assessment skills, and proficient knowledge with cardiac, neuro, and respiratory systems, and Don and Doff of PPE.
Procedures performed on unit: Intubations, cardioversions, ventriculostomy drain placement and management, IABP management, continual renal replacement therapy (CRRT), proning of patients.
Certifications Required: ACLS and BLS; TNCC a plus
Dress Code : (Required uniform)
• Ceil blue scrubs
• White or ceil blue scrub jacket optional
• If working with COVID patients, green surgery scrubs will be provided upon arrival to unit.

• Quality measures are highly maintained
