Job Description

NICU RN
Schedule: Three to four 12-hour shifts/week
Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd or more if she/he is willing
On-Call Requirements: None; if census goes down, which we are not anticipating, we have a Standby process which consists of the person on standby we able to get to the hospital within 1 hour to take an assignment
Duties and Responsibilities: Level 3 care, CPAP, Vents, UVC lines, support in L&D at deliveries when needed, provides strong Developmental care
Required Experience: 2-3 years of Level 3 minimum
Required Certification: NRP
Education Required: BSN
Ideal Candidate Characteristics: Positive, takes initiative, good work ethic, dependable, flexible, empathetic, strong skills, accepts feedback
Unit Description: 14 licensed beds but census much higher presently. Approx. 50 nurses, 2 FT Physical therapist, Nutritionist, Speech therapist, social work.
We care for 22+ week babies. No surgical patients. If census goes down, our nurses can be reassigned to either Peds to care for babies or our Maternity unit, only caring for babies. This is not likely to happen though.
