General Information

Unit Specifics:

• Number of Beds : 32

• Patient Ratios :2:1

• Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : Unit Secretary 0730-0000

• Type of equipment :

• Documentation system: Meditech

• Scheduling requirements: 3 12 hour shifts/ Every other weekend (or 4 weekend shifts in 4 week schedule period)

• Floating policy: To like units: NSICU, Cardiac Telemetry units (4 North and 4 Central) Progressive Care Unit (4 West), Burn Unit, ED Inpatient Overflow, other units as per overall hospital needs

• Patient Experience requirements: 2 years ICU experience, prefer ICU experience

Hospital Specifics-

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Hiring profile

Requested Skill Set:

Trauma patient management, IV administration of vasoactive medications, ventilator management, chest tube management, care of post-op surgical patients, cardiac rhythm identification and management, hemodynamic monitoring, care of stroke patient

Must have:

Advanced skills needed: Hemodynamic and ventilator management

Procedures performed on unit: Chest tube placement, ventriculostomy, moderate sedation, CRRT, therapeutic hypothermia; ECMO, arterial line and central line placement

Certifications Required:
ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
(preferred but not required- TNCC)

Dress Code: (Required uniform)

• Top- Navy scrub top (no t-shirts, must be scrub top)

• Bottoms- Navy or black scrub bottoms

• Jackets- Navy, White, or Black (solid colors)

• Undershirts-Navy, White, or Black (solid colors)
