Unit Specifics:
• Number of Beds : 20
• Patient Ratios : 4:1
• Unit staffing description - Unit Secretary, Nurse Externs (can start IVs), Patient Care Techs (can draw labs), Registered Nurses, Manger, Director
• Type of equipment : ZOLL, Baxter pumps, GE telemetry monitors, imobile, Hillrom beds, Centrella Speciality beds, kangaroo pumps, Timpani and Inspire App (scheduling)
• Documentation system: Expanse
• Scheduling requirements: Every other weekend, Holiday or hard to fill availability, 2 Mondays / 2 Fridays a schedule
• Floating policy: can float to other Step- Downs (4:1- PSTU, CSU) Medsurg (6:1- ONC, CRPU, GSTU, NTU, MCU)
• Patient Experience requirements: ACLS, Acute Care / Step-Down, Cardiac Drips (Dilt, Amio, Dobut, Milrinone, Nitro, etc), Post Cath without intervention, BIPAP/CPAP/ High Flow, Chest Tubes

Requested Skill Set:

Must have : Step-Down, Cardiac Drips experience with, BIPAP/CPAP/ High Flow, Sepsis

Advanced skills needed:

Procedures performed on unit: Occasional bed side Cardioversion (appropriate Cath Lab staff to recover patient)

Certifications Required: ACLS


Dress Code : (Required uniform)
• All navy blue or all white scrubs, closed toed shoes, no Crocs, HCA/Hospital Branded T-Shirts are permitted

Unit Guidelines/Policies : Please attach unit specific policies and guidelines.
• Time and attendance (shift starts promptly at 0700/1900) anything later is not tolerated
• Attending shift huddle mandatory
• Bedside shift report (including patient in conversation) for all patients, including isolation patients. BSSR is mandatory

• Unit has staff ranging from 30+ years of nursing experience, to new graduates who are eager to learn. We have had a 0% turnover rate for the last 2 years! Great relationship with the ICU and Cath Lab, Teamwork is a MUST on the unit and accountability is what drives us!
