Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital receives international acclaim for its outstanding and dynamic kidney transplant, liver transplant and pancreas transplant programs, setting record numbers for volume and desired outcomes. Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital is home to the Texas Transplant Institute, a nationally recognized center that performed the worlds first 16-way kidney donor exchange chain during three consecutive days at a single hospital.
In addition to our successes in transplant procedures, Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital is widely recognized for other specialty programs. Our facility earned designation as a Center of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Excellence from the American Society for Bariatric Surgery in 2008. Our sexual assault response team provides a compassionate environment for sexual assault survivors ages 13 and up. This program serves as a model for hospitals and agencies all over the world

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs.

Hiring profile

Requested Skill Set:

Must have : (candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role)


• Over 2+ years of OR experience

• Over 2+ years of Hospital experience

• BLS Required

• ACLS Required

• Travel Experience ONLY - previous experience required


Preferred Skills/Advanced Skills Needed: (candidates with these skills will be considered first)


• Meditech experience preferred

• Robotics

• Urology

• General Surgery

• Bariatric Surgery

• Meditech experience preferred


Specialty/Unit Certifications Required: (RN)


• Active TX RN License - temp license will NOT be accepted


Procedures performed on unit:


• Liver, kidney

• kidney pancreas transplants

• Variety of general surgery, robotics, bariatric surgery, ent, opthomalogy, plastic surgery



Dress Code: Include requirements, but most of all not acceptable attire.

• Scrub Color

o RN: Navy-scrub top and pant, Navy or white scrub jacket

• Nail Policy - Clean and Healthy

• Hair - hair should be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors. Beards, mustaches and sideburns should be clean and neatly trimmed

• Tattoos - Body art should be covered whenever possible. Body art that is not feasible to cover on a daily basis will be addressed individually

• Piercings - Visible piercings other than ears, is prohibited
