Unit Specifics:
• Number of Beds : 18
• Patient Ratios : 1: 5 or 1:6 ( 1:7 only when surging to decompress ER, Not usually)
• Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : Shared Secretary and 1 - 1.5 C.N.A depending on volume
• Type of equipment : vital signs monitor, Remote Telemonitoring, IMobile, Bladder scanner, Vein Finder, Dopplers, SCDS, Alaris Pumps., Wound Vacs, On Q Pump
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Scheduling requirements: 12 hour shifts (3/ week with weekend committments)
• Floating policy: Other medical units and if they have to float to PCU its a modified assignment with no drips.
• Patient Experience requirements: Areas of Focus: Answering call lights timely and Bedside reporting in patients rooms, Purposeful Hourly Rounding.

• Certifications:TJC Disease Specific Care Certification for Hip, Knee and Spine Programs

Hiring profile

Requested Skill Set:

Must have : Orthopedic experience, Florida License

Advanced skills needed:

Procedures performed on unit: IV starts, Foley insertion, Dressing changes, NG tube insertions.

Certifications Required: BLS ( AHA approved)


Dress Code : (Required uniform)
• Pewter or White tops and bottoms
