\u2022 Patient Ratios : 2:1
\u2022 Unit staffing description: RNs and Unit secretary\/COVID runner. Total care is provided by RNs.
\u2022 Type of equipment: Ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, Balloon pumps, ventriculostomy drains, glucometers. Use of iMobile phones and technology by all staff in the hospital. PPE- includes mask, face shields, goggles, PAPRs and hoods for our COVID-19 patients.
\u2022 Documentation system: Meditech using EBCD (Evidence Based Clinical Documentation)
\u2022 Scheduling requirements: All nursing shift are twelve hours from 7 to 7; every other weekend. Holiday requirements
\u2022 Floating policy: Nursing staff will float to other Medical-Surgical Units in the hospital as needed with priority focus on pulling to Intensive Care Units.
\u2022 Patient Experience requirements: Hourly rounding, bedside hand-off reporting, completion of My Care Board during hand-off report; use of AIDET with a focus on compassionate connected care.

Advanced skills needed: <\/b> Ventilator management, critical care drip knowledge, thorough and accurate assessment skills, and proficient knowledge with cardiac, neuro, and respiratory systems, and Don and Doff of PPE. <\/b>

Procedures performed on unit: <\/b> Intubations, cardioversions, ventriculostomy drain placement and management, IABP management, continual renal replacement therapy (CRRT), proning of patients.

Certifications Required: <\/b> ACLS and BLS; TNCC a plus <\/b>

Dress Code<\/b> : (Required uniform)
\u2022 Ceil blue scrubs
\u2022 White or ceil blue scrub jacket optional
\u2022 If working with COVID patients, green surgery scrubs will be provided upon arrival to unit.
