Job Description –

Oncology Progessive Care 5N (AMU&Oncology combined)
First Time Travelers Accepted
Shift Requirements: 4x12s.
No call required
Weekend coverage – Every other weekend
13-week contract available
Certification Requirements:
BLS, ACLS preferred
Skillset Requirements:
Inpatient oncology, blood/blood product administration, infusion pump management, starting IVs, isolation precautions, neutronic precautions,
Floating Required
Minimum Experience Required: 2 Years
Staffing Ratios: 1:4/5
Unit Information:
This 25 bed unit is committed to delivering the best, high quality, compassionate care to all patients. On OPC, we utilize a team approach consisting of nurses, physicians, patient care assistants, case managers, and unit support staff. Our care team specializes in the care of stable progressive care patients, patients with a diagnosis or history of cancer, end of life care, including Inpatient Hospice, and medical level of care. As part of the Oncology Progressive Care team, you will become chemotherapy trained and will have the opportunity to become an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN).
Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RNs to work at their facilities (SEE EXCEPTIONS BELOW). The last day for IN RNs to start a NEW contract is 9/9 (allows them to finish a contract by 11/30). **Periop/OR RNs, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule. These IN travelers are allowed to work past the 11/30 deadline. Periop includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS** Shift Info: Night 4×12-Hour (19:00 – 07:30)
