Job Title – RN – Medical Surgical (Med/Surg)

Location – Indianapolis, IN

Pay – $2176 – $2284/wk

Schedule Details – Day, 3X12

Job Description –
Position / Specialty: MS RN
Ratios: 1:5-6
Years of experience REQ: 2 years
First timers accepted: Yes
Weekend REQ: Every Other. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need.
Certs REQ: BLS
Is on-call REQ? No.
Will the clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals
Open to accommodating block schedule? To be discussed.
Locals accepted: No.
Pending License accepted: No. IN-STATE LICENSE / REQUIRED CERTS MUST BE IN HAND TO SUB
RTO Restrictions: Must work 2/3 major holidays.
Guaranteed Hours: 8 and 10 hr. shifts – 40 hrs. in one workweek. 3, 12 hr. shifts – 36 hrs. in one workweek. 4, 12 hr. shifts – 48 hrs. in one workweek.
Special Requirements: Level 1 Trauma required. Charge experience preferred. While it is a very close knit community, and a very team oriented group, this is a HIGHLY fast paced unit – they want folks to come in and hit the ground running.
Unit Information: Post Operative – Urology, GYN, GI, Ortho etc. & some pre-op patients
REFUSAL TO FLOAT MAY END IN TERMINATION OF CONTRACT
Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RNs to work at their facilities (SEE EXCEPTIONS BELOW). **Periop/OR RNs, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule. These IN travelers are allowed to work past the 11/30 deadline. Periop includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS** *** Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to 1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR 2) if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract 3) If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract *** Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.
