Job Description –

Unit Highlights: PLEASE READ EXPERIENCE FULLY!

Hospital: Methodist Hospital

Location: San Antonio, TX

Unit: Cath Lab / ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY LAB (746)
Classification: RN – CATH LAB / EP EXPERIENCE

Shift Detail: 8 hour mixed shifts (0800 to 1430, 1100 to 1930)
Building/Floor/Suite information of unit:

General Information

Shift Details- Please correct information below if needed:

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks

• Shift/Workdays: 12 hour shifts

• Weekend – Discuss during interview

• Call Requirements: YES- Currently on-call 12 hours on Saturdays every 3rd week (open to variation)

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hrs.

• Special Skills/Experience required: 2 Years +

***All travelers are required to float, while on the interview please inform traveler of the Methodist Floating Policy***

• Documentation system: Meditech

Hiring profile

Requested Skill Set:
Must have : (candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role)

• BLS

• ACLS

• Documentation system MacLab and occasionally MediTech for reference
• Prefer 2+ years RN experience in the electrophysiology lab
• Pediatric EP occasionally performed

Preferred Skills/Advanced Skills Needed: (candidates with these skills will be considered first)

• 5yrs experience in Diagnostic Cardiac Cath/PCI/STEMI

• Pediatric (congenital heart)

Specialty/Unit Certifications Required: (RN)

Active TX RN License-Temp License are no longer accepted


Procedures performed on unit:

Diagnostic Cath/ PCI/Structural heart/ TAVR/TMVR

Pediatric EP occasionally performed

Dress Code: Include requirements, but most of all not acceptable attire.

Scrub Color

o Cath Lab RN: Scrubs Provided by department

Nail Policy – Clean and Healthy

Hair – hair should be neat and clean with no extrem styles or colors. Beards, mustaches and sideburns should be clean and neatly trimmed

Tattoos – Body art should be covered whenever possible. Body art that is not fessible to cover on a daily basis will be addressed individually

Piercings – Visible piercings other than ears, is prohibited
