Job Title – RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location – Asheville, NC

Pay – $2002 – $2038/wk

Schedule Details – Night, 3X12

Building: Owen Heart Center (Heart Tower)

General Information

Tell us about the unit(s):

• Number of Beds – 40

• Type of staff:
• Day Shift – 1 Charge Nurse/ 10 staff/bedside nurses/4 PCTs/1 Unit Secretary

• Night Shift – 1 Charge Nurse/10 staff/bedside nurses/3 PCTs

• Patient Ratios -1:4; stretch staffing at 1:5 ratio

• Type of patients: patients with CHF, MI, CP, arrhythmia, Pulmonary Hypertension; valvular disease, endocarditis; DKA; post cardiac cath/stent; post pacer/ICD/ ablation.

• Type of equipment: Zoll, Baxter pump, lift equipments, bladder scanner;

• EMR – Cerner

Typical hiring profile

Skill Set Most recruited for:

Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

• Stepdown or progressive care experience

• Telemetry experience

• Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications like nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drip, heparin, bumex/Lasix; etc.

Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.

• Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin).

• Relief charge experience

• Bedside Cardioversion

Best personality Fit:

• Flexible, positive attitude, great team player, compassionate

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

• BLS, ACLS

Floating Area(s):

• All MedSurg units, Stepdown units, COVID unit, and ER holding.

Dress Code:

• Scrub Color/Attire – all white or all navy blue or white top and navy blue pants.

Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please feel free to attach unit policies and guidelines.

• Will be discussed during orientation

Weekends and On call(if any)

Every other weekend
